Vocational and Adults


Vocational Classes

For committed dancers, working at a faster pace leading to examinations which are recognised world wide as a basis for professional training. Students must also continue with their grades classes to cover the vocabulary of steps required for vocational work. students must apply to join these classes and will attend a trial period of 5 weeks during which the teacher will consider their suitability to work at this level.

Includes RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern and Tap.

SQA Courses

SQA Courses run by Monument Performing Arts School

National 4 & 5  – students who complete these may progress to the Higher Course
Higher Dance – students must complete National 5  before attempting Higher.
National Certificate & Higher National Certificate Dance – available to students who have completed Higher


Adult Classes

We have a range of adult classes to suit all availabilities.

Adults can wear comfortable clothing – leggings and a T-shirt or leotards for the brave and bare feet or thick socks – obviously tap shoes are required for tap but we may have a pair you can borrow for your first class – so call or email to book your class – or just turn up!

Classes include DDMIX, Ballet, Tap and Jazz.

Teaching Examinations

Teaching Examinations In 2005 Monument Dance Centre was awarded Approved Dance Centre Status by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. This allows us to offer teaching exams:

 ISTD – Diploma in Dance Education - DDE

 Mentoring for RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies - CBTS is also available.
