About Monument Dance Centre

“Amazing dance centre ♥️- lovely staff and great place for leaning different dance styles. My daughter has been there from 3 -18 years of age and loved it”

Monument Dance Centre was founded as ‘Monument Ballet School’ by Louise Murray in 1983. The school started out with classes in local community centres however within a few years the need for a permanent premises became apparent. Easter Cornton Farmhouse became the new home of Monument Ballet School which is now known as Monument Dance Centre.

We offer classes from as young as 18 months for our Baby Boppers with progression into Mini Movers, Graded and Vocational classes. There is no upper age limit at Monument Dance Centre and you can join us for Adult classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. You can find out more about the classes we have available here.

“Excellent dance school both my girls attend and enjoy very much. It’s great to see how much they have grown into wonderful dancers and continue to learn more and want to do more. I would highly recommend. Shows that they have performed in to date have always been exciting to watch.”

All students have the opportunity to sit exams with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) during their time with us. We have plenty of performance opportunities for students including our biennial dance show. Classes spend time working on a group dance that they then perform on stage at the Macrobert Arts Centre for friends and family. Our dance show is an exciting opportunity for our students to show off their progression and hard work.

Monument Dance Centre is also an SQA Approved Centre and currently offers NPA, Nat 5 and Higher Dance qualifications. This means that the Scottish Qualifications Authority recognise that we have the facilities, procedures and staff required to deliver SQA courses. Our recent inspection declared an excellent outcome in all areas.
